What It Is: Bla Bla Box is an easy to use early learning app that helps children combine letters together to learn sounds, syllables, and words. Bla Bla Box is available for iOS and Android. It’s a great tool for early readers.
Why We Like It: This app helps kids piece together the sounds of the alphabet in order to create various words. While the idea is simple, the possibilities within the app are endless. The app is easy for kids to use; they simply drag and drop letters into the play area where they will hear the sound of the letter. When two or more letters are combined, the narrator repeats the sound of those letters together to help children learn to sound out various words as they are spelled. This is great practice for young readers and spellers.
Note To Parents: If you have mischievous kids in the house, you don’t have to worry about bad language being spoken. The app is set to block common curse words and it passed our swear test (the synthesized narrator wouldn’t say the curse words we typed in). You can rest easy. More good news, this app doesn’t contain additional links or ads to distract children from the learning activities.
