Why We Like It: The Evenflo Tribute LX Convertible Car Seat has a lot of unique features that make it the right seat for many types of families. The small size and weight of this seat make it great for people who are on-the-go, while still meeting all federal safety regulations. This seat also has a low price point, making it a good choice for families on a budget.
What do we like about the Tribute? For starters, the seat’s small size (less than 10 pounds) means you’ll have no trouble hauling it around or moving it between vehicles. This convertible car seat clocks in at several pounds lighter than many traditional baby carriers, making it a good option if you’re looking for something lighter for your newborn.
Another perk of the smaller seat size is that it can fit well into compact cars. This means families with smaller cars or traveling families (think rental cars) won’t have to worry about their mode of transportation being too small. The lighter weight also makes it a good choice for carrying through airports. And with a width of only 17 inches, it’s a good way to fit more than one car seat on a row (twins anyone?).

Cons: Like most car seats in the lower price range, the Tribute LX is not as simple and quick to install as some pricier models. Parents do, however, have the option of choosing between belt and LATCH installation. Most parents didn’t mind the extra set up time when you factor in the quality and low price point of this seat.
